The 2020 Ford Escape was definitely red-carpet-ready — actually, make that blue carpet-ready — at its recent reveal in the imaginative world of Escapeville located in Greenfield Village. The creative setting orchestrated by Dearborn’s Imagination Detroit featured a 35,000-square-foot blue carpet and Ford-branded pop-ups peppered throughout the fictional town. The Ford Co-Pilot360 safety system, which boasts technologies such as Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, a Lane-Keeping System and BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert, was represented by the pop-up Co-Pilates360. The Escape’s innovative Heads-Up Display and connectivity capabilities with Waze and Alexa apps were stylishly represented by the Heads-Up Hair Salon. On duty to style hair was none other than stylist-extraordinaire Alexa Wave.
Imagination Detroit’s managing director Alistair Wilson remarked that because of its connection to the automaker, Greenfield Village was the ideal place to showcase the 2020 Ford Escape in such a fanciful way. “It’s so connected to the early years of the Ford brand, and it so illustrates that leap from then to tomorrow.”
Approximately 70 actors populated Escapeville. And break-dancers, jugglers and musicians entertained visitors eager to get a closer look at the stunning SUV.
In addition to two gasoline-powered engine options, the 2020 Ford Escape, which will be driving into dealerships later this year, will feature a plug-in hybrid and hybrid powertrain option.
